You can't play the real guitar, so you tried Guitar Hero. Turns out, you're terrible at that as well. But never fear -- there's still hope for your rock 'n' roll fantasy.
Registration opened Wednesday for the U.S. Air Guitar 2009 tour, with a SoCal stop on June 19 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but the winner from LA will compete in the U.S. Air Guitar Finals in August. You take that title, and you're headed to Oulu, Finland, to represent the USA in the Air Guitar World Championships.
Just think of the crowd chanting "U-S-A" as you wail on your axe -- well, technically you're wailing on a fictional axe -- but you're still wailing, and the crowd loves it. It'll make the end of Rocky IV look like child's play in the world of sports nationalism.
Last year's U.S. champ, Hot Lixx Hulahan, was victorious in Finland, bringing home a third title in six years for America (U-S-A! U-S-A!).
Of course, if you want to check the regionals but have no desire to officially rock, tickets go on sale Friday.
