VALENTINO GALA: Actress Maria Bello will be awarded the Los Angeles Spirit Award for Style and Substance. Vintage frocks and gowns created by none other than Valentino will be shown on the runway. Matt Goss will perform, and all the fabulousness goes down at the Geffen Contemporary MOCA. It's part of Downtown Fashion Week, and the party begins at 7:30PM. Tickets start at $50.
ALL ABOUT JACK: The eyebrows. The gaze. The wave-y hand movements. Jack Nicholson is the Jack Nicholsoniest man around, but there are others who like to pay tribute. Who must pay tribute. Eye an octet of impersonators and determine if they capture the essence of the "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" star. Lady Jacks are promised, too. Fun. Definitely *not* all work and no play. Theatre 68, 8PM, $15
BLOODY PROM PARTY: "Carrie" is a movie many people have seen, but even if you haven't, you know the ending. Oh goodness do you. Now the Melrose-based art-clothes shop ghettogloss is turning customers into the telepathic teen for a night, complete with foofy dresses and a photog. It's the perfectly, and perfectly chilling, pre-Halloween thing to do. Just don't go slamming any doors with your mind. 9PM-midnight
