ROONEY: Sunny retrofied tunes delivered by some sons of Los Angeles. Did you enjoy the band's offerings on "The OC"? The love songs that have a dash of 1960s pop? They're at the El Rey. If you miss 'em tonight, they're turning the tour bus toward Pomona tomorrow.
MORE MUSIC: Tiesto plays the first of two nights at The Shrine; Amoeba puts on a Johnny Cash tribute called "All Cake No File," part of the WTF Festival at The Actors' Gang; and Joan Sebastian is at STAPLES Center.
"MERCY WARREN'S TEA" OPENS: A penned-in-1977 play looks back at one of America's first female playwrights. Scandal and intrigue are afoot, and one intriguing party. It's at the Odyssey Theatre, and reservations are recommended.
