"I BOUGHT A BLUE CAR TODAY": Witty actor, accomplished singer, and gentleman bon vivant Alan Cumming presented his one-man reminisce-a-thon (not to mention belt-it-out-acular) at the Geffen Playhouse a few months back. People liked. People talked to people who liked. And now he's back, but not for long, just through December 18th in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theatre.
HANDEL'S MESSIAH: It's being sung in performance halls around the world this week and next. In Los Angeles, one main place is Walt Disney Concert Hall. And an interesting note: the evening will feature period instruments. That famous chorus plus vintage music-makers. "Stirring" seems the appropriate word here. 8PM
PEDESTRIAN-ONLY NIGHTS WRAPPING: The vehicle-free evenings at the LA DWP Holiday Light Festival are nearing an end. You can still walk the attraction starting on December 18th, but cars will be allowed in. Just take note, if you were hoping to stroll by the sparkles without vrooming nearby. The fest's on from 5-10PM.
