2/4: Hammer Bash!

Janet Klein is swingin' by to make some swing.

HAMMER BASH! The R. Crumb Book of Genesis exhibit has just a few days left. With that in mind, the Hammer Museum's having a shindig, complete with the lovely musical stylings of Janet Klein and her Parlor Boys (two of the Boys have played with Mr. Crumb). There will be a drawing workshop and a cash bar, too. Here's where we say hot dog. Hot dog! 7-11PM

GEORGE LOPEZ & FRIENDS HELP HAITI BENEFIT: The celebrity list for this one was quite long a few days ago -- Cheech and Chong, Larry David, Margaret Cho -- and we can only imagine the songs and speeches will move. It's at Nokia Theatre at LA Live at 7:30PM. Tickets are $50 and $75.

WRITING IN A TIME OF WAR: The Writers Guild Foundation has several fascinating evenings just ahead -- including one featuring a panel of WGA and Oscar nominees -- but we would certainly try and see this one tonight. The scribes behind "The Hurt Locker," "Stop Loss," and other war films talk about the challenges and their own experiences. 6:45PM, WGA offices.
