The LA Live debut gets bigger and more seasonal with "The Light of the Angels," the seven-minute, full-on, lights-and-razzmatazz holiday extravaganza running every night, on the hour, from December 4 through New Year's Eve.

Just how massive will the show get? Eleven enormous screens circling Nokia Plaza are part of the merry performance, as are some 11,000 LED lights covering a gigantic, 52-foot Christmas tree. Music is part of the festivities, of course -- this is Nokia Plaza, after all -- but expect plenty of fancy-dancy wizardry that goes outside the bounds of the usual fa-la-la-la offerings.

We feel enormously cheered by the over-the-top tech-y whiz-bang-ness of it all. We adore the snow at The Grove and Disneyland; the twinkling lights on a mall Santa's cottage; and the temporary ice rinks keeping cold on an 80-degree day. So that LA Live wants to cover new territory in the Christmas realm is downright exciting, and gives ho-ho-ho aficionados another wonder to say they saw in the big city.
