How have we lived here for so long and never realized that the word "howl" could slide easily into the word "Hollywood"? Okay. Now we know.

It makes sense, after all. The film and television industries, and the stars who work in them, are famously all about animals, from employing them to writing movies about them to helping them out with a bevy of charity events and fundraisers. Next up on the benevolent-to-beasties circuit: Bow Wow WOO Howlywood, which will be putting the spotlight (and funds) on Much Love Animal Rescue and SECURE-A-PET. It's happening at The Lot in Hollywood on Saturday, August 22nd.

The night: A vege-laden spread, auctions, cocktails, and a line-up of comedians, including the delightful Laura Kightlinger. The attendees expected to show: Tori Spelling, Jerry O'Connell, Rebecca Romijn, the night's honoree Priscilla Presley, and Jason Lewis. That Jason Lewis. From "Sex and the City." Thought so. You want to go.

Eye the full list of expected participants here. Tickets start at $200, and the money lends support to Much Love. The animal rescue has a number of missions, but a principal one: providing medical care for hurt animals. Removing animals from shelters, and working to match pups and cats with happy homes. And lots more. Check it out.
