Universal Studios

There's nothing not to like about this story.

The 13 Days of Grinchmas is headed for Universal Studios, as it does every year. There will be Whos, there will be Who-type warbling, there will be the furry, Santa-hatted title-hogger, there will be photos with the Grinch.

And what of Max? Here comes the sweet little candy part. He'll be played by a series of real dogs, including four rescues.

Okay, all together now, dog lovers: one big sigh.

We like seeing rescues get the love, get a second chance, get cooed and fussed over. We like that for all dogs, but pups that need help and a home? This is the holiday niceness we've been wanting.

Dusty, pictured here, came from a Chatsworth shelter back in 2008. The Universal people visited several shelters to find their Fidos, and Dusty fit the bill, both in confidence and cuteness. When he is not Max-ing during the holidays, he's an animal actor at the theme park.

Grinchmas makes merry at Universal Hollywood from Saturday, December 19th through Thursday, December 31st.
