Tonight: The Tasty Awards

Cable cooks and other hosts gather in Hollywood to party.

THE TASTY AWARDS: Not all the major, trophy-laden ceremonies this season are all about cinema. Food is at the delicious center of The Tasty Awards, and fashion and home programming, too, and the show will gather plenty of cable stars and hosts at The Egyptian for the award-handing-out-ing. It's year two for The Tastys. We like saying that, The Tastys. 6 p.m. red carpet, 7 p.m. show

DOWNTOWN ART WALK: As always, dozens and dozens of galleries and spaces will be open, for free, for several hours, for lookie-loos to come saunter around and soak in some big ideas. It's just on the second Thursday of the month, so that's something to consider. The Bijou Van Ness hat show at the Fine Arts Building particularly catches the fancy on this go-around.

"THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL": If news that the Broadway cast of "God of Carnage" is making its way to LA in April has put you in the mood for humor that indulges in a bit of satiric scathery, then make for the Skirball, where Julian Sands and Susan Sullivan are heading up another cutting comedy. "Scandal" is presented by Los Angeles Theatre Works, and is up through Sunday, Jan. 16.
