YOU CAN DRUM, TOO: Taiko-terrific group On Ensemble leads a drum-focused DIY night at the Ford. The plan: The audience drums along (bringing a paint bucket is suggested). There will be drum-making demos, too. Free, but phoning ahead -- 323-461-3673 -- is a must. 7PM
MONDAY MOVIES NIGHTS: Don't-pay-a-blasted-thing-and-see-a-great-flick nights, in the summertime, are an everybody-loves-'em favorite. Putting them on Monday is a stroke of smartie-ness. We need movies on Monday nights, funny, extra awesome movies, like "Ghostbusters," which is screening at the Simi Valley Town Center at 8PM.
MORE MOVIES: New Beverly is screening the Vietnam-based opuses "Full Metal Jacket" and "Platoon." Two lauded directors -- Stanley Kubrick and Oliver Stone, respectively -- and two movies made in the late-ish '80s -- 1987 and 1986, respectively -- make for one memorable, and memorably intense, evening of film-going. 7:30PM
