Worth the Drive: Lightning in a Bottle

Worth the Drive is NBCLA's twice weekly look at nearby getaways

Your job: Decide to get out of town and fast. Our job: Help you find where you're headed. This week, NBCLA's Worth the Drive takes us to...

Lightning in a Bottle: It's a four-day music/art/dance/yoga party, presented by the idea-forward Do Lab people.

Location: Rustic-nice Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine.

Dates: Memorial Day Weekend (May 28-31, 2010)

Lightning's thunder: Performances by the Album Leaf, Booka Shade, Adam Freeland, Beats Antique, and dozens more vibe-filled DJs and musicians. Also, look for fire dancing, yoga classes, paintings all around, and circus-y spectacles enacted by Lucent Dossier.

Lightning in a Paintcan: The weekend will also help raise funds for art supplies for schools that need them but can't afford them.

The Temple of Consciousness: Look for speakers to speak here, and the yoga classes.

Three more things that intrigue: Bee keeping demos, kombucha-making explained, raising urban chickens. Mmm, kombucha.

3-Day Pass: $190-$205, depending on tier; get more info now.
