You Like to Rock; "Also I Like to Rock" Returns to Hammer

In the bustle that is Westwood, The Hammer Museum courtyard is a table-strewn, plant-y plant oasis. Quiet-ish, bring-a-book-able, write-your-poetry-able, excellent for the watching of people. Have we, on occasion, enjoyed a Highnooner egg-and-bacon sandwich from nearby Sandbag's in its pretty environs? On occasion, yes.
But we shall put aside mayo-based sandwichery, and poetry scrawlings, and inward musings, and all of that, when the Hammer courtyard welcomes Also I Like to Rock, its turn-it-up Thursday-night summertime series that focuses on great totally-heard-of or only-a-little-bit-heard-of bands chosen by Indie 103.1.
The galleries also stay open late-ish -- 9PM meaning late-ish -- and they're free. The music is free. The coming-and-shaking-your-stuff-under-the-stars is free. Parking...not free but not much. Three bucks after 6PM (under The Hammer). Like we said, not much.
Also I Like to Rock bows in '09 on Thursday, July 2nd at 8PM with Amazing Baby, Dazzler, and Band of Skulls.
