Zombies. Dancing. Pomona. Yes!

Thrill the World 2010 gets funky at the Fairplex.

So, how'd all the zombie practices go?

We're guessing you didn't show up with your piano music books or cleats, but rather your zombiefied outfit and lolling arm moves. You went to perfect your "Thriller" moves, the ones found in the much-much-much-pored-over Michael Jackson/John Landis/Vincent Price megavideo from 1983. Which is no easy task. Lessons are needed.

And those lessons have been going down, to the ground, or maybe the other way up, from beneath the ground, to the Southern California streets for the last few weeks. Why? Thrill the World, of course, which is happening in 2010 on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Fairplex in Pomona.

If you think this is the annual let's-get-people-around-the-world-to-dance-to-"Thriller,"-simultaneously-sort-of deal, you'd be correct. And if there was ever an answer to the question "why isn't there more sheer whimsy in the world?," this is a fine and noble response. Whimsy indeed lives among the undead.

You can get all the info on Thrill the World LA, the group's many recent appearances (like at the Los Angeles County Fair), and the big plans for Oct. 23.

You can also get all the info on Thrill the World, the global web site, plus maps on where and when citizens of the globe, near and far, will be gathering to be happy zombies together.

Whimsy!
