Ruby's Shake Shack

The rebuffing, rescrubbing, redoing, and re-present-ing-to-the-world-ing of Malibu Pier a few months back was a big deal indeed. At over a hundred years old, the pier had weathered, literally and figuratively, good times and less-than-sunny days. It served a role in World War II, and as a landmark for the glittery beachside community.

Getting people out to the pier, and on the pier, is important for its future, and few things work like solid dine-out options. There's the Beachcomber and the Malibu Pier Club, of course, and now Ruby's Shake Shack, which had its grand opening on Sunday, June 28th, but serves its first breakfast on Monday the 29th.

We're pausing here to think about the luxury of long, drawn-out breakfast in Malibu on a weekday. Happy. Eggs-and-toast-y. Good.

A secret menu is a not-so-secret secret at Ruby's (a mud pie shake is all we need to know); plus burgers, fries, everything ocean-side-ish and pier-perfect. Salty. Salty-sweet in the salt air. Plus mud pie shakes. Yes.
