So we lost the US Olympics bid to Chicago, but the LA area still has a chance to host World Cup games in 2018 or 2022, reports the Star-News. Come on LA, let's not muff this one, too. "Pasadena is on a short list of cities to potentially host a FIFA World Cup soccer tournament game in either 2018 or 2022, USA Bid Committee Inc. said Thursday.

The Rose Bowl and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum are among the venues that still remain part of the bid to host the event. The Rose Bowl seats just more than 92,000 and the L.A. Memorial Coliseum seats 93,607." Because we know you care, next year's World Cup will be held in South Africa.
