Steve Martin. Banjo. Live in Concert. That's All.

Former Disneyland employee, sometimes juggler, sometimes wearer of comic arrows through the head, longtime comedian, longtime actor, longtime playwright, longtime screenwriter, longtime writer-writer Steve Martin is rocking his banjo on Monday, May 11 at Club Nokia. Show's at 8PM.

He is, in fact, chitchatting with comedian Dave Barry, too. Not at the same time as the banjo playing, we're guessing. Banjo playing. Chitchat. Banjo playing. The whole evening helps LA Public Library, which is nice, because we heard Steve Martin likes words. Dave Barry does, too. We heard.

There's almost nothing more we want to type about it, nothing we can type about it, because people on planets that will be discovered 18,000 years from now will know Steve Martin, will worship Steve Martin, will be able to quote from "Three Amigos" and do the whole put-down routine from the "Roxanne" bar scene by memory. They'll be able to sing the lyrics to "King Tut" and they'll be excited when the new phone book arrives, a la "The Jerk" (if they have phone books 18,000 years from now).

Mr. Renaissance Man has been banjo-ing a good long time -- read his biography "Born Standing Up" for more tales of his Disneyland beginnings -- and he's wicked talented. There probably isn't a thing Steve Martin can't do. Maybe he can come over and caulk our bathroom. We're betting he's excellent at the caulking arts, too.
