Day Made: Amy Sedaris Writes Comical Craft Book

So Mr. David Sedaris, humorist extraordinaire, was just in town, yukking it up with his famously wry, dry stories. It got us to thinking about how much we enjoyed his sister Amy's "I Like You," a book crammed with excellent recipes, edgy humor, outlandish tall tales, junior-high-ish drawings of things like cucumbers, and several photos of the authoress herself, pantless, in nude hose (the photos were strangely tasteful, we're sorry to report).

Now we read that the writer-comedian-"Strangers-with-Candy"-star-and-Stephen-Colbert-chum is penning a book about crafts. Yay! Because we know it'll be brimming with thrifty macrame owls and tissue-box covers and aluminum-foil lamp shades and her friendly-foul sense of humor. And just when crafting continues to take off. We hope it makes a full-scale comeback. All of it. Including decoupage.

We're happy. More funny. More Amy. More crafts. Less worrying and stressing about entertaining and what our homes should look like. Let's all have some fun, and break out the swirly, avocado-green oil paintings our moms painted back in high school.
