Rudy Giuliani Waxes on Issues of the Day

Guess this is the week for some of the most famous names in politics (yes, we're including the President here) to stop by Los Angeles for wide-ranging chitchat on the haps. Next up is Rudy Giuliani, who is appearing at Gibson Amphitheatre as part of the Public Lecture Series, which is organized by the Whizin Center for Continuing Education at American Jewish University.

The Whizin Center promises the topics will include both "social and political issues" which should make for an interesting night. And while the former mayor's speech at the 2008 Republican Convention was galvanizing to the party, his SoCal appearance should be less about stumping and more introspective and exploratory.

We're intrigued, and maybe a bit relieved. After a year -- okay, who are we kidding, two years, even 30 months -- of partisan talk on both sides, we always look forward to the post-election period, when leaders are free to simply muse about what's going on and their candid opinions and so forth. We well know that the 2012 election is due to start in, oh, a few days maybe? So we'll welcome a quieter moment of issue discussion now.

Public Lecture Series: Rudy Giuliani
Monday, March 23, 7:30PM
Gibson Amphitheatre, 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City
