Amazon acquired a digital comics company to bring comics and graphic novels to its customers, according to a report.
Amazon announced the acquisition of comiXology, an app that brought Guided View technology to the e-reader, according to a statement by the company.
“ComiXology’s mission is to spread the love of comics and graphic novels in all forms,” David Steinberger, co-founder and CEO of comiXology said in the statement. “There is no better home for comiXology than Amazon to see this vision through. Working together, we look to accelerate a new age for comic books and graphic novels.”
Steinberger also said in a note that comiXology would still "retain its identity as an Amazon subsidiary."
