America's Got Talent Trolling YouTube for Talent

Last week thousands stood in line outside the Cow Palace for their chance to be on the "X Factor."

In February thousands more lined up at 8 a.m. at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco for an opportunity to show off their skills on "America's Got Talent."

Now the NBC reality television show is back but this time it is kicking the line to the curb and asking would be contestants to go online and submit a video via YouTube for a chance to compete for $1 million.

NBC judges will sort through the videos submitted by June 1 on the America's Got Talent YouTube channel and then select the top 20 videos. Those will then be posted from June 25 to July 7.

"Maybe you’ll be the one to go a step further than opera singer Jackie Evancho, who went from YouTube contestant to second-place in 2010," YouTube Entertainment & Film marketing programs manager Sue McCauley said in a statement.

YouTube users will then be able to vote for their favorite video. The top vote getter will earn a spot on the show.
