Apple has bought 12 pages of ads in the March issue of Vogue to tout its new Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch launches in April, so the March issue is a strategic ad buy, according to Ad Age. The ad will include promoting the three versions of the new smartwatch: the leather standard model, the rubber Sport , and the high-end Edition, all in glossy print ads. The March issue is important because it's the issue that debuts most spring collections.
In 2013, Google's tech products also appeared in Vogue in an editorial spread, when the magazine debuted its wearable Google Glass. While Apple hasn't gotten that editorial spread, the Apple Watch has appeared on several magazine covers since October, including Vogue China and Self.
Will the Apple Watch be a good fit for fashion-conscious Vogue? That 12-page ad spread seems to indicate that Apple thinks it is.
