Consumer Reports Ranks Samsung, LG, Motorola Higher than iPhone 5

Consumer Reports' latest review of smartphones have surprised many because the top-ranked smartphone is not from Apple, and phones from Samsung, LG and Motorola have beaten the iPhone 5 in a battery of tests.

Business Insider reported that the iPhone 5 isn't even in the top 3 smartphones on Verizon, instead those honors go to three Android phones, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, the Motorola Droid Razr HD and rounding out the three is the Samsung Galaxy S III. For AT&T and Sprint,  The LG Optimus G is ranked No. 1 and the Samsung Galaxy S III is No. 2 on both AT&T and Sprint providers. The iPhone 5 ranks third on AT&T and Sprint. Samsung's Galaxy S III is also tops at T-Mobile.

Several reports seemed to find this news shocking, including Boy Genius Report and TUAW. Forbes, however, took an "I told you so" stance, as did many other online news outlets, which we believe you should all take with a grain of salt since it was the first time we ever saw them take such a side. The results show that each phone is only about a point apart, so it's likely that the iPhone is a good choice for a smartphone overall, just like the Samsung, LG and Motorola models.
