Facebook Deems Pedophilia Funny (Enough)

A Facebook page called, "Pedophiles are people too," doesn't violate the social network's policies because it's controversial humor.

The Facebook page gained national attention when the New York Post began commenting about the site Tuesday, calling it "disgusting" and "crap." Facebook also apparently finds it "disgusting" but told the Post it wouldn't take down the page:

Facebook is a service devoted to helping people share and making the world more open and connected. . . . In general, pages or groups devoted to jokes, even disgusting and distasteful ones, do not violate our policies.

Some humor on the page includes, "My other ride is a 9-year-old" and (since taken down,) "You know you skilled when you can fit 10 kids in 1 self storage box," according to the Post.

Isn't this the same social network that banned a mother for posting pictures of her son at the Special Olympics and pulled photos of two men kissing? So far, Facebook has shown its terms of service to be pretty vague and weird.
