Facebook Interns Make More Than You

Facebook is the best place in the world to work, and one of the reasons is that it pays its interns about $5,600 a month

How could a company paying its interns the equivalent of $67,000 a year, not be a great place to work? Facebook pays its interns $5,602 a month and is the highest-rated place to work in the world, according to a recent report.

The report comes from Glassdoor.com, a jobs and career website, which ranks Facebook as No. 1, No. 2 is McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm and No. 3 is San Francisco-based computer network manufacturer and consultant Riverbed Technology. Google ranked No. 6, LinkedIn was No. 14 and Apple No. 34.

The $5,602 a month figure comes from Glassdoor's 28 personal reviews of the company, according to Business Insider, which comes out to $67,000 a year -- about $25,000 more than the average American.

Now, interns generally only work full-time in the summer, so while it's nice bank it will only be a quarter of that $67,000 paycheck before back to hitting the books.

Does that make you feel better?

We don't think it's surprising that pretty good-paying jobs are ranked higher, although from what I read in the reviews, there definitely is cultural pressure to do your best work as well as work hard for the company.

It's pretty hard to argue with, "People are thrilled to be there and that's infectious."
