Google Doodles Itself a Birthday Cake

Happy birthday Google!

On its 13th birthday, the Mountain View-based search company is already a seasoned veteran of the tech industry.

And Google has a nifty new Google Doodle to celebrate the occassion that pays homage to the exclamation point that was part of the original logo.

The company has grown immensly since Larry Page and Sergey Brin secured $100,000 to build the search engine in their garage back in 1997.

Google has expanded beyond a search engine into a mobile juggernaut, a Hulu-bidding machine, an explain yourself in front of Congress type titan and more.

PC World has put together an impressive timeline of some of Google's major achievments year-by-year.
