Google Uses TV, NFL to Push Google+

Mountain View-based company begins running ads for social network project.

Google's spring cleaning won't include its social media experiment.

The Mountain View-based search giant's foray into social media is here to stay for at least the time being and Google is looking to add new users.

Over the holiday weekend, Google began running adds for its "little Facebook" in the hopes of drawing new users to Google+.

One add shows off Google+'s "circle" features, which allows users to categorize their friends and to choose who to share what information with.

Another 90 second spot ran on Thanksgiving during the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions game on the NFL Network.

The national spot showed off Google+'s circles and "hangouts" feature as well as the ability to share images, video and more.
