Google to Protest SOPA in Its Own Way

Google won't join Wikipedia in going black at midnight on Wednesday but the Mountain View-based search company will join a digital protest against SOPA.

The controversial Congressional measure, which would give the US Justice Department the ability to track and go after Internet pirates, has rallied some of Silicon Valley's largest tech companies together to oppose the measure.

Google is joined by Twitter, Yahoo, Facebook, Craigslist, LinkedIn, eBay, AOL, Zynga, Wikipedia and more.

Wikipedia had tried to organize those tech companies in opposition to go dark for 24 hours Wednesday but instead Google will add a link to its homepage where users will be able to learn more about the measure.
