You could feel the lust.
Apple fans, getting their hands (some real, some virtual through blogs and tweets) on the newest iPad (to avoid confusion, to be referred to here simply as "iPad."), with its improved retina screen, more powerful camera, and faster chip.
If you, too, want to get your hands on the iPad, but recently bought another tablet computer, eBay has an offer you may not be able to refuse. For a short time (through the 10th of March), the San Jose online auction giant is offering what it calls its electronics trade-in program.
Basically, this gives you a window to make some decent coin off your old mobile device. Say you have an iPad2, 64GB with Wi-Fi and 3G. You can, if it's in working condition, get as much as $475. Not bad, considering that the newest model starts at $499.
But the eBay deal doesn't just target iPad users. That used Motorola Xoom can earn you as much as $240; as much as $225 for a solid Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 32GB.
I should mention that eBay is far from alone when it comes to trading in your used iPad. Gazelle, Amazon, Glyde - all among the places offering to give you some cash if you plan to upgrade. The best advice? Compare, and ask yourself: Do I really need that retina screen?
