California remains the capital of the car culture, so here's a little bit of good economic news in a superhighway of bad: the number of new car registrations was up 20 percent this March, compared to March 2009, according to the Sacramento Bee.
It's good to be cautious with month-to-month comparisons, particular when the comparison point is March 2009 -- the depths of the Great Recession. But Californians need to take their good economic news where they can get it.
