Dodgers Lose Finale In Colorado

Capuano gives up five runs in three innings in Dodgers loss

The Dodgers lost the series finale in Colorado on Thursday 9-6, snapping their four game winning streak for their second loss in 12 games. Chris Capuano had a bad outing but the Dodgers stranded 11 batters on 15 hits.

Chris Capuano gave up five runs in the first three innings, with RBI hits from Carlso Gonzalez, Josh Rutledge, Michael Cuddyer, and Willin Rosario. He was removed in the fifth inning with one out after giving up a double to Cuddyer.

In his last two starts Capuano has given up 17 hits for 13 runs in just eight innings, and has been the starting pitcher in each of the Dodgers two losses the last 12 games.

The Dodgers had the lead in the second inning alone, when Matt Kemp hit a two-run homer to score Andre Ethier. It was his second consecutive at bat with a home run going back to the ninth inning on Wednesday.

Two more Dodger runs were scored in the sixth inning when Yasiel Puig singled in Nick Punto, and Adrian Gonzalez followed with a double off the left field fence to score Puig from first base.

Gonzalez had a four-hit night, and capitalized it in the ninth with a solo home run. He has a home run in three consecutive nights, sounds like somebody enjoys playing in Coors Field.

Hanley Ramirez also went 1-4 on the night, extending his hitting streak to 15 games.
