It's the hottest new buzz in Smartphones and may finally give the iPhone some real competition, thanks to Verizon, Motorola, and Google.
Word on the street: if you don't buy an iPhone, buy a Droid. The new Smartphone from Motorola promises to put the best of Google in your pocket. Based on Google's new Android 2.0 operating system, the phone puts a lot of 'giz' in gizmo and one up's the iPhone in several areas: higher resolution screen, slide out keyboard, interchangeable battery, 5 megapixel camera, and new turn-by-turn navigation app with a touch of Google Earth thrown in.
For those who have had enough of AT&T's 'fewer bars in more LA places,' Verizon's capable cell network may prove to be the best selling point.
Droid will be hitting SoCal store shelves November 6. Several Verizon stores are expected to open early just in case you want to be the first to have one.
