In Los Angeles, you can never be thin enough. Just when you thought Apple's lighter-than-light Macbook Air would be crowned the sveltest laptop around, along comes the Sony X series. Suddenly Apple's supermodel looks as though it needs to hit the gym.
Built out of carbon fiber, the new razor thin Sony X series claims to be the world's lightest notebook weighing in at a feathery 1.6 pounds. Despite is slight form (only a 1/2 inch thick), it packs a 14 hour battery, 11 inch screen, built-in Verizon wireless broadband, turn-by-turn navigation, and Windows 7.
The X series is due to be released November 22 but you can get a sneak peak at the Beverly Center Sony Store. Prices start at $1299.
