Emergen-C
Pink=Helping Out
Oh, this wind. It's that time of year around these parts, and the wind certainly has an updated calendar. It knows. We have a feeling there might be some more coughing and sneezing just around the corner, which is one reason we're liking this wee packet.
The packet is Emergen-C -- you've seen the feel-better powder for sale at counters all over -- and it is pink. Being that it is October still, and being that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this is a perfect moment to talk about why. A portion of the proceeds from every Pink Emergen-C packet sold goes to The Keep a Breast Foundation, and, to date, that is in the amount of $200,000. Actually, over that amount.
Alacer, the company behind Emergen-C, is headed by the son of a two-time breast cancer survivor. And Liv Tyler is the face of the Pink campaign. In other words, it isn't just the packet, but the people that make this a look-for product.
Nobody wants a cold. But, with chill, windy days afoot, we say look for the pink packet when you go to buy your vitamin-filled goodness. Help yourself, help others.
