The Anaheim International Dance Festival struts from Friday, Aug. 12 through Sunday, Aug. 14.
DANCE NOW: We haven't commissioned a study on it, but we have to guess that many dance festivals happen in the traditional fall-winter-spring season season. Or at least the biggest events on any dance calendar. So finding a full weekend of movement-merry to-dos in the middle of August is delightful, especially when there's a wide range of goings-on. That's very much the case with the Anaheim International Dance Festival, which is happening in Anaheim and Fullerton from Friday, August 12 through Sunday, August 14.
THE SCHEDULE: Dance on Film is the festival opener; that's happening at Chapman University on Aug. 12. And the Stars of Tomorrow performance is also at Chapman, but on Sunday afternoon. And we definitely have to take in the tutus on display at Muzeo Anaheim; is there a full museum devoted to tutu-ery yet? Feels like the tutu's time has come. But then, of course, it never really leaves, and thank goodness for that.
