Bowlero Debuts in Woodland Hills

Enjoy swanky eats, nifty design touches, classic bowling.

EVERY DEVOTED BOWLER KNOWS... that some sustenance goes a long way toward helping the ball meet the pins in a satisfying, strike-inducing way. After all, sending a sizable urethane orb down a polished runway, one that has gutters on either side, takes a bit of get-up-and-go. So finding that bowling alley that does well on the dining side of things, to keep one's arm swing and ultimate at-the-line delivery strong, is essential. Most every alley offers up some sort of snackage, from vending machine chips to small diners, but some places are thinking grander, and on the gourmand side of things. Bowlero, a Texas-based boutique chain, first rolled into Southern California, at Mar Vista, in the spring of 2015. With that opening came a bevy of posh burgers, and gooey-cheesy sides, and classic cocktails, instantaneously upping the eats one might expect to nosh upon before taking to the lanes. Now the next regional Bowlero has made its debut, in Woodland Hills, and the menu is jam-packed with restaurant-style fare, like...

GARLIC PARM FRIES, and Pulled Pork Sliders, and Bowlero's buzzed-about Monster Burger, which comes with a hefty dose of Monster Sauce. These can be ordered laneside, so you can munch away as you keep an eye on your score (and how your companions are rolling). As for the specs of the fresh spot, which landed in the former AMF Woodlake Lanes? There are 32 lanes in all, all blacklight bowling, complete with "an upgraded A/V system" and "massive floor-to-ceiling video screens at the end of every lane." Has the sound system received a full updating as well? You got it. Is there an game-filled arcade on site, that must-have of every neighborhood alley? We wouldn't have asked the question if there wasn't.

MARCH 12, 2016, is the official opening date. For hours, full menu, and more, check out the Bowlero online HQ or swing by 23130 Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills.
