MAJOR MEMORY: If you've been to a county fair, you likely leave with a head full of sparkle and color and fried goodness. It can be hard to pin down one impression or one memory or one favorite thing, but something often burbles up, and it can often be something unexpected. Like the Barnyard Fashion Parade. Sure, you may head for the OC Fair wanting to ride the Ferris wheel, but once you get an eyeful of sheep and their kid pals strutting in some sort of cute get-ups, well. That Ferris wheel can wait. We're calling the parade one of the sweetest touches of the Costa Mesa-based fair.
PARADE DATE: This year's fashion show is set for Thursday, July 28. The Orange County Fair opens on Friday, July 15. For more livestock events, check out the full schedule at the fair site.
