    EDIBLES AND OCEAN VIEWS: The California coastline is finite, and we Golden Staters are grateful that much of it is wild, grassy, sandy, and only occupied by the occasional gull or bunch of kelp. We're also fortunate that, in some of the coast's most colorful and charming towns, there are those rare places where one may savor ocean views while sipping a cup of tea, or a glass of wine, or enjoying dinner. Indeed, the bluff-top, beach-close restaurant is a sup-nice staple of eating-out in our state, with a few titans at the top of the list. Las Brisas in Laguna Beach is one of the long-timers, for sure, and the forever-bustling scene, and wide windows, ensures it will remain an OC must-see for years to come. In fact, it has been around for many years, first as a built-in-the-late-'30s inn, and then as Las Brisas, which began at the very end of the 1970s.     NEW SELECTIONS ON THE MENU: Las Brisas unveiled a number of new lunch and dinner entrees near the start of 2017, including a charred octopus dish with frisee, charred corn, crème fraiche, and toasted ciabatta and lobster carbonara, which features nueske's bacon, in addition to a host of other flavorful components. Brisas cioppino, ahi tacos, and a mixed seafood grill, which includes snow crab claws, fresh catch, charred octopus, shrimp, lobster, and more tasty additions, have also recently debuted. There's a lot to peruse among the new Las Brisas dishes, but, of course, make time to watch those Laguna Beach waves, which have been just outside the restaurant's large windows, and off the back terrace area, for decades.
