SEASIDE SWEET: There's nothing not to like about a monthly stroll that puts the focus on a town's walkable core. It's usually in the evening, there are usually deals at various business, and restaurants often have very kind employees out with trays loaded with tidbits. All extremely nice. But adding an animal focus only makes the night more intriguing, and we're definitely intrigued by Art Night in the Harbor, Ventura's get-about gadabout, which is happening next on Thursday, Aug. 18. People who paint pets will be given a special spotlight, and visitors to the event are invited to show with their bundle of love or a photo of said bundle of love.
SIX PORTRAITISTS: There will be a half dozen artists who specialize in petly pictures, and a few other dozen artists beyond. The hours are 5 to 8 p.m., and there will be other goodies going down, like a chance to win a day trip to Santa Cruz or Anacapa Island. Possibly winning such a trip *and* getting a painting done of your Schnauzer? Talk about a great night.
