Escondido Street Faire: On October 17during the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., crowds of roughly 600,00 are expected to take over seven blocks of downtown Escondido. All for a farmer's market? Pff! Hardly. It’s a street faire and it's a pretty darn big one--the second largest in the state, to be specific. Since its inception in 1988, the Faire has accumulated a beer garden and later hours.
What are they looking at?: All along Grand Ave. between Centre City Pkwy and Ivy street, people will converge to check out the 600 unique vendors, who have a little bit of everything—arts, crafts, worldly food, unique clothing, rides for the kiddos and animal demos by the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Oh! The old-fashioned pancake breakfast too. Nom, nom, nom.
