Ride for Ronnie: Rockin' Fundraiser

Support the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund at this early-May fundraiser.

LENDING SUPPORT... to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund can happen in myriad memorable ways. There's the annual bowling night, in the fall, that puts fans of the metal icon on the lanes, and there's the motorcycle ride in the springtime, the one that wends along a vroom-vroom path from Harley-Davidson of Glendale to Los Encinos State Historic Park. And it is time again for the wheels to roll, on Sunday, May 7, as those who want to pay homage to the musician's rockin' memory, and raise money for his important fund, either fire up their cycle or head straight to Encino for the after-rally and concert. Radio celebrity Eddit Trunk is the host, and Lynch Mob, Eddie Money, Rough Cutt, Dio Disciples, and The Loveless are all set to get loud and bring the metal melodies to the stage.

THE RIDE FOR RONNIE... leaves Glendale at 10:45 a.m., or thereabouts, but you'll want to arrive way ahead of that time to register. As for the rally and concert? Be there a pinch before noon, and prepare to experience pump-your-fists, bang-your-head(-if-you-wish) tuneage through to 5 o'clock. One heart-warmer of a number to keep in mind? The Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund has raised $1,500,000 since its 2010 start. To ride, to get involved, to see the show, and to make a contribution, turn up some Dio, like, top of the dial, and click.
