Enjoy wintry to-dos near Lake Arrowhead (just check on the road conditions before pulling on your snowman hat).

IT'S OFTEN SAID THAT SANTA IS MAGICAL, and his ability to set the right sort of enchanted scene never fails. You don't need to glance allll the way to the North Pole to spy this particular sort of enchantment in action, though; you only must find your way to Lake Arrowhead, or nearby, to SkyPark, the home of Santa's Village. The mid-century gem re-opened at the start of December 2016, after a couple of decades of staying shuttered, and longtime fans and brand-new kids drove up in droves, the better to meet the Jolly Ol' Elf and savor some cocoa. But just because the 25th of December has now passed for another year, and the next Christmas Day is several months down the ho, ho, road, doesn't mean that you can't still find some sparkly, Santa's Village-style celebration. There is, in fact, a run of Winter Wonderland Festivities just ahead, starting on Friday, Jan. 13. And the forecast on Friday, Jan. 13, the very day the Winter Wonderland-y fun kicks off?

WHY YES, THERE SHALL BE SNOW... in the air, per the weather reports, which leads us back to Santa being magical and setting ideal enchanted scenes. There's a special price ahead (adults are $29, kids $19), and "Snow Play, Ice Skating, Winter Crafts, Wintertime Entertainment..." and other haps await. Just be sure to check the road up the mountain to see the chains-needing situation, and if everything is fully plowed after Friday's snowfall. For even Mr. Claus needs a little help in that arena. Ready to keep the Christmas-type cheer going, with an emphasis on wintry good times? Consider your mid-January joyed-up at this longtime Lake Arrowhead-close attraction.
