St. Patrick's Day at Skypark at Santa's Village

Tunes and Irish eats'll be the holiday themes at the Lake Arrowhead attraction.

MARCHTIME ON THE MOUNTAIN: Wintertime around Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead and the other nearby high-elevation towns has been something to talk about, for sure. Snowflakes have fallen, down jackets have been donned, and an attraction with snowy sweetness at its holiday heart, Skypark at Santa's Village, made its re-debut after many shuttered years. It was kind of the perfectly frosty season for the ho, ho, ho location to re-emerge, and while Santa and his elves will jingle bells ringing into the warmer time of year, there is a pause to honor another occasion, just ahead of spring's arrival. It's St. Patrick's Day we speak of, and the Lake Arrowhead-adjacent peppermint-cute place will tip a tam o'shanter to the music and foods of Ireland over a few special, celebratory hours. Those hours, of course, will happen on...

FRIDAY, MARCH 17, from 4 to 7 in the evening. The 60 Grit Band will play, the Pedal Pub'll be pouring the craft brews, and several things around the village will be open, including the ice rink. If you've ever pondered the idea of observing two different holidays or times of the year over the same few hours, and Christmas and St. Patrick's Day are two of the occasions you love best, this could be your moment to merrily mark both celebrations. Admission? It's $16 for this special event. What other holidays are ahead on the Santa's Village calendar? It feels like a prime place for all sorts of bunny-cute, fall-fun parties.
