The Ghost of Kate Morgan

EXTRA MILE: This is nice. This is going the distance. And this is something a lot of hotels should probably think about doing, especially if they are purported to have a famous spirit on the premises. We're talking about the pretty and pretty creepy video (yeah, the music'll get you) that the Hotel del Coronado made about Kate Morgan, its most well-known forever resident. A lot of people check into the San Diego landmark because there is said to be a ghost on the grounds, not despite of the fact, which has us thinking that other hotels should actively promote, or at least not shy from, their own alleged spirits.

The spooky contest the hotel was holding is now closed -- the prize was a pair of tickets to its Halloween party and two nights at the Del -- but you can still make the Saturday, Oct. 29 to-do for the price of admission. A ticket is $100 and it is 21-and-over only.

Here's the video. Bravo, Hotel del. It's a lovely bit o' atmosphere for the season.
