Film Sleeps in Santa Barbara

FILM FESTIVAL, THEN ZZZ: No one would dare claim that watching a movie is taxing (well, a good movie, anyway). It is, in fact, not taxing but relaxing, and a viewer often leaves feeling refreshed after two hours. But taking in films, and lectures, and star sightings at a big festival is an entirely different matter. One is actually a bit drained -- a nice drained, if such a thing exists -- by the close of a busy day. So it is always lovely when a hotel near a film festival gets in on the action.

FOUR SEASONS RESORT: The stately, beach-close Santa Barbara landmark will be doing just that during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which will run from Jan. 27 through Feb. 6. The package is dubbed "Film Sleeps" and has several nice adds attached, including a visit to Tydes Restaurant for you and your film-loving companion. Other hotels in the area will also be offering festival-related deals. Best of all, hooking up with a deal means you can skip making the long drive home after a day weeping/ogling stars/laughing/popcorning/weeping again. In that order, usually.
