POMEGRANATE PARTY: Granted, a pomegranate, at least in our modern times, can be enjoyed pretty much year-round. But it is a fruit bowl beauty that seems to belong to the holidays, thanks in part to this being its prime season, but also thanks to its tiny bejeweled orbs and dusky, Christmas-red hue. With that in mind, the first weekend in December is the ideal time to pay pomegranates homage, which is what the Buttonwood Farm Winery is doing near Santa Barbara.
DEC. 4-5: Buttonwood will have tastings of "festive dishes featuring pomegrantes" and more fruitly fun. And, since "winery" is indeed in the venue's name, there will be sipping as well. Get more info before setting out for Santa Ynez Valley.
