Wanderlust 2012

The high-mountain yoga gathering draws practioners from all points.

FIRST WORD: If the first word you hear upon mentioning the words "Wanderlust Festival" is "yoga," be assured that that is completely correct. The annual North Lake Tahoe-close party is very much about yoga, and practice, and positions, and teachers, and downward dog and corpse pose and challenging one's self. But Wanderlustians know that the four-day party goes beyond. Actually, "going beyond" is rather an apt way to describe much of the spirit behind the mountain-peaceful gathering. It's a happening devoted to yoga and spiritual practice and good tunes and good vibes and everything in-between. And the California festival is set to unfurl those positive vibes from Thursday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29.

ON DECK: Several major yoga instructors and speakers are set to appear over the four-day celebration. Shiva Rea, Wayne Dyer, and Seane Corn are just three of the names. And, on the music front? Ziggy Marley, Beats Antique, and Shpongle (there's a masquerade, too). Hiking, vino tasting, and a host of Squaw Valley-set outdoor to-dos are also on the table. If you're a Wanderlust Festival follower you know that the North Lake Tahoe confab is actually part of a trio; the Colorado and Vermont parties are set for this summer as well.
