The national advocacy group, OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates, hosted its annual convention on August 7-10 in Los Angeles. Thousands of people from around the country attended for educational, cultural and networking events.
This year, in addition to recognizing the achievements of Asian Pacific American students, OCA wanted to bring its young audience dynamic speakers that could show them what it’s like to have an influential role in the media, in front of the camera and behind the scenes. To that end, NBC4 Reporter Hetty Chang and Platform Manager Anlynn Truong, spoke about their careers in journalism at the Youth Recognition Luncheon.
