NBC4 Southern California co-hosted an Inland Empire Community Reception & Town Hall in Riverside on October 29, 2013 with The Community Foundation, an organization that has supported and served the needs of communities in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties for several decades.

NBC4 Co-anchor Colleen Williams, Inland Empire Bureau Chief Tony Shin, Inland Empire Reporter Jacob Rascon and Weathercaster Fritz Coleman all participated, and heard drom residents and nonprofit organizations about local issues and stories that affect the local community.

Thanks to The Community Foundation’s network of organizations throughout the region, the event successfully connected many worthwhile organizations with NBC4 to share the work they do and engage in an informative dialogue. The NBC4 Community Affairs department also reiterated how the community can participate in its outreach activities, including nonprofit sponsorships and charitable contributions.

The culmination of the luncheon was a check presentation from NBC4 to The Community Foundation to help kick off its Give Big Riverside giving campaign, which will take place on November 12. Give Big Riverside will support more than 100 nonprofit organizations in the region, serving a variety of causes and diverse communities.
