NBC4's Mekahlo Medina Awarded for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism

The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), a media advocacy and civil rights organization for the advancement of Latinos, held its annual impact awards luncheon on September 11, 2014. The awards recognized local talent and community leaders in Los Angeles for their impact on the region’s Latino community.

NBC4 Technology and Social Media Reporter Mekahlo Medina was bestowed the honor of ‘Excellence in Broadcast Journalism,’ for his achievements and contributions in Southern California. He delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech about the challenges he has endured and overcome to realize his dreams.

Medina was surrounded by his NBC4 colleagues including Reporter Kim Baldonado, who received the impact award in 2013; President and General Manager Steve Carlston and Vice President of News, Todd Mokhtari, among others.
