NBC4’s Vikki Vargas Receives Top Honors from Orange County Press Club

Vikki Vargas, NBC4’s Orange County Bureau Chief of more than 30 years, was recognized with the Sky Dunlap Award 2013 from the Orange County Press Club at a dinner banquet on July 29. The Club’s top honor recognized the Orange County native for her lifetime achievement in journalism and her commitment to community involvement.

Vargas was recognized for her dedication to advancing the journalism profession through the establishment of the Vikki Vargas/NBC4 scholarship endowment at her alma mater, Cal State Fullerton, along with her deep commitment to supporting children in foster care through the OrangeWood Children’s Foundation.

This honor adds to the numerous industry awards Vargas has earned over the course of her career, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Hispanic Media, a Los Angeles Emmy Award a Golden Mike, among many others.
